Missionary Health Care
How Are Missionary Health Care Funds
Raised?
Memorial Roll
The Memorial Roll, established in 1919, is a way to honor deceased friends and
loved ones. A certificate is issued in the name of the person memorialized and
is often presented to a family member or displayed in the church. Churches or
individuals may place as many names on the Memorial Roll as they desire, and
those memorialized need not be members of the church.
To place a name on the Memorial Roll, obtain a Memorial Roll Order Form from
your local NMI president (Order forms are included in the District NMI
Convention packet each local church receives annually.) Fill in the
order form, and send it and a check for $50 to General Treasurer.
NEW!—Children's
Memorial Roll
The newest facet of NMI Missionary Health Care is
the Children's Memorial Roll (MR). Intended to honor deceased children up to
age 18, the Children's MR is designed to be displayed in a nursery, living
room, or hallway. The Children’s MR certificate features bright colors and
depicts children of diverse ages and ethnicities in the arms of Jesus.
The Children's Memorial Roll is a great way to honor deceased children and
contribute to NMI Missionary Health Care, which provides health insurance for
Nazarene missionaries and their families.
Churches are encouraged to frame the
Children's MR. The certificates fit into an 8"x10" standard-sized frame.
Distinguished Service
Award
The Distinguished Service Award (DSA) is a tribute to church people who are
living and for their service to the church. Although the DSA is given
through NMI it need not be given in the area of missions. A church may wish
to honor anyone in the church for their efforts. Note: The DSA may only
be given by a church or a group within the church. Individuals may not give
this award.
To order a DSA, fill in a DSA Order Form (from the District NMI Convention
packet), giving special attention to the three-line "tribute"
explaining the reason for the award. Send the form and a check for $100 to the
General Treasurer. Note: A DSA may be awarded to a couple as long as only
one tribute message is submitted.
Missionary Health Care Offerings
Through plate offerings or Faith Promise giving, the whole church helps
provide for the medical needs of Nazarene missionaries. Every church is
encouraged to support Missionary Health Care annually.
Gifts From the Heart
Provide
health care for missionaries by honoring/memorializing friends and loved ones.
Donate to Missionary Health Care for anniversaries, birthdays, new arrivals,
retirements, in lieu of flowers, or "just because." You determine the
donation. An attractive card announces your gift in honor of the occasion.
A
display rack and a set each of "In Honor" and "In Memory"
cards should be displayed in each church. Or see your local NMI president.
